#300

#300, Chelsea, NYC

Three hundred days, three hundred numbers, and, in non-Ampersand land, a three hundred page manuscript awaiting whittling. It's nice to have a full plate, and it's good to have a gold, magisterial 300 to ring in the next round in style and symmetry. Three hundred down, sixty-five left to go. Wish me luck. It's harvest time, dammit, and there's still more gathering left to do.

I tried to figure out earlier what I found so pleasing about this picture & accompanying text. I couldn't put my finger on it so I decided to come back to it later.

Now I think I know. There are words you used in this post that have a "gold feel" to them even when not directly talking about the color. Don't know if this was intentional or not, but it gives the post the quality of an extended conceit.

Gold Words:
Plate
Gold
Magisterial
Ring
Harvest

Not to mention, of course, that the idea of your three hundred page manuscript makes me happy too.

I was going to mention "bling" as well, but somehow it didn't fit.

Jackie, you're awesome. I love having lit crit friends. Let's go get pumpkin spice lattes and Ph.D's.
